SOON: MEETING TOM LIESEGANG

IN THIS INTERVIEW KAYSER MEETS TOM LIESEGANG. EXPECT AN INTERESTING DISCUSSION BETWEEN TWO ARTISTS WHO HAVE MUCH IN COMMON WHILE YET SO DIFFERENT.

Tom Liesegang (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Liesegang) is an American artist, who chose Portugal as his second base a few years ago. It was there, more concretely in Guarda, that Liesegang and Kayser were introduced by a common friend, the lawyer José Pereira de Melo.
Tom is also the co-founder of New Art Brut (https://newartbrut.com), an association of artists confronting injustice; societal, personal, racial, global, and environmental.

Why did Tom want a second home besides New York, how does he feel as a foreigner in Portugal, and what keeps him inspired on the Iberian Peninsula? Is it a problem for artists to go against the commonly acceptable political groupthink? How corrupt is the art market? What can an artist actually give society today? Is art still relevant…has it ever been that?

Those and many more questions will Tom ponder and discuss with KHK for Libertadores.eu, and it will be interesting as both have German roots, were both strongly inspired by Dadaism, and seem both to prefer the same barber…

…stay tuned to hear from Tom Liesegang and check his works on https://www.tomliesegang.com/ and https://www.saatchiart.com/liesegang
